1 Mill Road Pinot Noir Home Block 2022

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHome Block is the heart of the 0.6 hectare 1 Mill Road vineyard in the Naramata Bench. It was planted in 2013 to a single pinot clone, Dijon 15. The 2022 continues to expand in the bottle, adding complexity to its vibrant cherry and desert scrub. These are new wines and young vines, but the finesse I am tasting suggests the future is bright for 1 Mill and other pinot producers on the Naramata Bench. Winemaker Ben Bryant is passionate about his approach to making pinot, and his wines are coming in under 13 percent (take that Burgundy, California, and many others) with barrels you can barely smell and rarely taste. Tasting this wine in three to five years will be a treat.Tasted: 01 June 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
