1 Mill Road Pinot Noir Home Block 2020
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHome Block is grown on the heavier silty soils of the Naramata Bench, in this case tilting southwest and lying close to the massive and deep Okanagan Lake. The days are long and sunny but never scorchingly hot, making the site ideal for pinot noir. The style is more rich and more earthy than fruity. Think Oregon, not California. It’s juicy with sour black cherry, forest floor, and silky tannins. Still young and a bit rowdy, I would give this another three years. It is all handpicked and hand sorted. The grapes, clone 115, are fermented and aged in wooden French oak tanks with an additional 20 percent new French oak barrels.Tasted: 07 April 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $55.00 | 750ml | winery online $330 6-packs only |
