Tantalus Maija Pinot Noir 2022
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe last time we saw Maija Pinot Noir was the 2019 vintage, so it's lovely to have it back in the portfolio. Named for owner Eric Savics' daughter, fruit came off their youngest estate blocks of Dijon plantings, complemented by fruit off a neighbouring vineyard. It was native fermented with 20% whole bunches prior to moving into French barriques (10% new) for 11 months prior to blending and bottling. Darkly shaded, this perfumed, plumped wine charms with fragrant plum, black cherry, and savoury spices, with a silken body gripped with long assam tea tannins to a spiced finish.Tasted: 13 August 2024Tasted by: Prices:| BC | $30.45 | 750ml | winery online, select private retailers |
