Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTempranillo is trying to find a home in the Okanagan, and it looks like it could be a fit, but for the moment, site selection remains the challenge to ripening the grape to its fullest potential. In this case, vineyards overlooking Skaha Lake are homes to this juicy, black cherry, plummy red with a rift of acidity stiffening its backbone. It spent 18 months in 50% American neutral oak and 50% French oak, which is one-third new and two-thirds 2nd year barrels, following the Rioja regime.
