Domaine Jacky Preys Touraine Terroir Silex Sauvignon 2020
Touraine, Loire, FranceThe Preys estate vineyards are located near the towns of Meusnes and Mareuil-sur-Cher, and the Cuvée Silex vines are grown exclusively over flint (silex translates to flint), giving a smoky, mineral essence to the wine. The winemaking is simple: the grapes are destemmed, pressed, and fermented on indigenous yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The finished wine is aged in stainless steel tanks. I love the sophisticated lemon and lime mixed with chalk and flint. Lemon curd and grapefruit grab your attention from front to back. A super seafood wine that you never tire of drinking. Think anything goat cheese, or decadent Mediterranean-inspired bites.
