Champagne Nominé Renard Le M Brut NV

Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceBased in Villevenard, in the Coteaux du Petit Morin, the Nominé family's vineyards extend over 20 hectares, spread over the slopes of Petit Morin, Sézannais, and the Marne valley. The diversity gives 3rd generation Simon Nominé lots to work with in his blends. Le M is a limited edition bottling (only 3995 bottles) of pinot meunier, from old Villevenard plots dating back to 1925. This is 90% 2019, with 10% reserves from 2018. It went into bottle in June 2020, and was disgorged February 2023 with 6.8 g/L. Lightly oxidative, with burnished cherry, red apple, raspberry on the creamy palate, finishing with a light smoked stone and anise on the finish. This cuvée does quite well in Italy, and the similarities with quality Franciacorta are evident. Well suited to canapés, especially cured salmon dishes.Tasted: 04 March 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
