Vasanti Estate Chardonnay 2022
Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaJagger Rock Vineyard is new to me, but it has the Similkameen Valley style, pitching high acid and lean fresh fruit. I do not often say this, but I could use a little oak here, as this may be one that would benefit from adding some mid-palate weight. Otherwise, this is about as zippy as you can get on the palate, with lemon, green apple, fresh cut pineapple, and lime zest dominating from front to back. The crispness suggests the limestone-rich soil has excellent vine growing potential. All it needs now is a bit more sensitive winemaking.
