Da Silva Chardonnay 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Da Silva Chardonnay is a focus of winemaker Richard Da Silva. It comes off two clay, loam silty sites: Blenheim Hill Vineyard on the Naramata Bench; and Lazy Dog Vineyard on the Penticton Bench. After a stainless steel fermentation, it spends 2 months in new, medium toast, American oak barrels. Da Silva likes what the American oak brings to his wine, adding a bit of weight and richness to the mid-palate. The nose is tropical, while the creamy palate and leesy mix of spicy, salty, and limey green melon counters the fruit from the backend. This is a step up from the previous edition and will please those who prefer a slightly richer chardonnay style with an appropriate acidity level.Tasted: 09 February 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
