Ciù Ciù Merlettaie Pecorino 2022
Marche, ItalyMerlettaie means lace, and the name of this wine pays homage to the lace workers of Offida, characteristic of these hills much like the Pecorino grape. From organic vineyards in Offida and Acquaviva Picena, at 280m, this was native fermented and aged in 25hL Slavonian oak barrels over a period of 8-10 weeks, where it remained for 6 months on lees prior to bottling. Floral pear, almond blossom, white honey rule this medium bodied wine, shining with a pink grapefruit acidity which lingers on the buzzy finish.
