Unsworth Vineyards Wild Island Auxerrois 2022

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaIn a world of cheap white wine, many with zero provenance, the Unsworth Auxerrois brings a little sanity to the picture. The even better news is it is less aggressive in terms of acid than many Island whites, lending it a more mainstream appearance. The vines were planted in the early 1990s at Zanatta vineyard, and they have been singing for two decades. Only a few barrels are made, but the bottle is worth pursuing. The wine is fermented wild and pitches plenty of inviting ripe melon. The palate is a mix of melons and yellow fruits with the perfect level of acidity that is almost soft without inhibiting the freshness of the wine. This is a terrific wine to pair with spaghetti and fresh butter clams, or a Margherita pizza. Ready to drink.Tasted: 09 December 2023Tasted by: Prices:
