Bachelder Old Eastern Block Pinot Noir Lowrey Vineyard 2021
St David's Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThis is from the oldest block at Lowrey Vineyard, planted in 1984 and 1988 on St. David's Bench, not far from the Niagara River. The 2021 vintage is perhaps the most savoury expression of Old Eastern Block that I've tried, ferrous and wild, with dusty, dried rose petals and anise, alongside subdued fruit that ranges from blood orange to pomegranate.
