Clos du Soleil Winemaker's Series Chardonnay La Côte Vineyard 2021
Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI remember when La Côte Vineyard was acquired and certified organic to fit easily into the comprehensive vineyard strategy at Clod du Soleil, and so it has. The individual notes of the GOW team all express a ripe, creamy character with peach, apple, lemon curd notes that are dusted in Similkameen sagebrush. Young and boisterous, this will settle down over the next year and remain a hardworking young chardonnay, rewarding now and over the next couple of years. It is all whole cluster pressed and fermented in older French puncheons, with no malolactic to keep it fresh, and aged on its lees for eight months, with periodic stirring as needed. Good value.Tasted: 01 November 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Clos du Soleil Winemaker's Series Chardonnay La Côte Vineyard 2021
Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom La Côte Vineyard in the Similkameen, the organic fruit was whole cluster pressed and then fermented and aged in French puncheons. It's a ripe expression of this chardonnay, reflecting the warmth of the 2021 vintage, with a combination of tangerine, peach, and russet apple that's accented by dried sage. On the palate, it's round, rich, and creamy, with soft acidity that will pair well with lobster pasta. A solid chardonnay at a fair price.Tasted: 23 December 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Clos du Soleil Winemaker's Series Chardonnay La Côte Vineyard 2021
Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom their certified organic La Côte Vineyard, this was whole cluster pressed and fermented in older French puncheons, with no MLF. It was aged on lees for 8 months, with sporadic bâtonnage. Ripe and creamy with pear, lemon curd, and green apple, all scented with scrubby sage. There's a lovely shape and form to this young wine, rewarding now, and over the next couple of years easy.Tasted: 08 November 2023Tasted by: Prices:
