Berlucchi Cuvée Imperiale Brut NV

Lombardy, ItalyThe Cuvee Imperial Brut is a 90/10 mix of chardonnay/pinot noir from within the 19 municipal areas of Franciacorta. After the secondary fermentation, it spends 18 months in the bottle and contains about 10% reserve wines. This is the softest bubble I have tasted here, more of an everyday sipper with a fragrant, yeasty, toasted palate with bright acidity and persistent mousse. It is Italian, meaning it was made for foods from rice and pasta to fish and regional cheeses. It's finished with a modest 8 g/L of sugar, about standard for a dry sparkling wine.Tasted: 26 November 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
