Gérard Bertrand An 806 2019

Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceOne of the organic / biodynamic leaders of not only France, but the wine world, Gérard Bertrand's An 806 is a grenache, syrah, mourvèdre blend from Corbières' schist, limestone and pebbles. The syrah was fermented carbonically, while the remainder was vinified traditionally. Post MLF, all were blended and aged in 225L French barrels for 8 months. Soft and plumped with the Southern French sunshine, but held to attention by the profound soils, this courses with wild raspberry, wild cherry, and scrubby garrigue. A bright acidity easily carries the 14% weight to a white peppercorn finish. Quite charming, and a lovely choice for the dinner table (think lamb or mushroom kabobs, or steak frites).Tasted: 07 March 2024Tasted by: Prices:
