Craggy Range Kidnappers Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

Hawkes Bay, North Island, New ZealandNew Zealand chardonnay is vastly underrepresented in Canada, at times obliterated by Kiwi sauvignon blanc, but if you are a fan of the cool coastal style, this is it. Winemaker Julian Grounds walks the acid / flavour line, bringing both together in an impressive bottle. Look for oyster liquor notes on the nose, with a nutty, citrus and lees undercurrent. The plate is similar, with lemon curd and perfectly tuned oak. Ready to drink but will age effortlessly through 2027. Do not over chill this wine.Tasted: 16 August 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
