Clos du Soleil Estate Reserve Red 2019
Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaClos du Soleil Estate Reserve is the winery flagship and a Similkameen statement red. The fruit comes from two Keremeos estate vineyards: Clos du Soleil Estate Vineyard, and Clos du Soleil La Côte Vineyard. The blend is 31% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 19% malbec, 14% cabernet franc, and 11% petit verdot. The fruit is gently handled and gravity fed into concrete fermentation tanks, fermented using only native yeast, and matured in French oak barrels for 18 months. Look for a cedar black raspberry nose with desert brush notes. The palate mixes minerals, wet stones, dark chocolate, wild red and black fruits dusted in Similkameen desert scrub. Elegant tannins define its highly refined structure. The finish is long and complex.
