Garnet Valley, Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA polished first effort mixing several clones of Pommard, Swan, 115, 667, 777, 828, 943 for this initial release that weighs in a light 12.2 percent alcohol. The nose is a cool dark cherry, black plum affair with violet florals. An earthy forest floor herbal undertone holds the fruit in check, adding complexity and length to the dry finish. Silky soft, this will be an excellent mid-term pinot you can drink now through 2025. The winemaking is exacting with each block and clone treated separately, pressing off to age 1 year in 33% new French oak barrels before the final blend.
