Tuscany, ItalyArceno is always a rich red, mixing sangiovese with 15% merlot. Soft and fleshy, it pitches spicy blackcurrant marked with baking spices and licorice, with a dusting of violets that lift the wine out of the glass. Still, some tannin to disperse, but this wine is always better at the five to seven-year mark. Think porthouse steak or Bistecca Alla Fiorentina. Tenuta di Arceno spreads across 1000 hectares of classic rolling hillside containing vineyards, forests, and medieval castles.
