Tuscany, ItalyArceno is always a rich red, mixing sangiovese with 15% merlot. Soft and fleshy, it pitches spicy blackcurrant marked with baking spices and licorice, with a dusting of violets that lift the wine out of the glass. Still, some tannin to disperse, but this wine is always better at the five to seven-year mark. Think porthouse steak or Bistecca Alla Fiorentina. Tenuta di Arceno spreads across 1000 hectares of classic rolling hillside containing vineyards, forests, and medieval castles. The vineyards have been replanted and expanded into a series of micro crus relating to the property’s 12 distinct meso climates over the last 20 years, vastly improving the fruit that gets to the winery.Tasted: 30 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:

Tuscany, ItalySangiovese is tipped with 15% merlot in this fleshy, dark fruited and brooding CC, with ten months in 2-3-year-old French oak giving some baking spice seasoning to the blackcurrant, black cherry ruling the full-bodied palate. Lashes of black licorice, hoisin, and worked leather are woven throughout, while sticky tannins wrap this to a warming, bitter cocoa finish. A bit rustic, this would do best with a fall/winter stew.Tasted: 26 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:
