McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaFrom the sandy corner block of the Wait Vineyard in Blewitt Springs, planted in 1943, this was crushed and destemmed, fermented in open top fermenters, and aged in old Hungarian oak. Sultry blackberry, black cherry, medicinal boysenberry fills the chewy, velvet palate, perfumed with musk, scented with light smoke, and framed with plump, sticky tannins.
