CedarCreek Platinum South Kelowna Slopes Pinot Gris 2022

British Columbia, CanadaThis CC Platinum Pinot Gris comes from their Home Block, and Simes vineyard, off South Kelowna Slopes, with vines in the latter reaching 25-30 years. For the acid-retaining Simes block, the fruit is whole bunch pressed and native fermented in a mix of older foudres and barriques. From the Home Block (block 7, 20 year old vines), the riper fruit is adding texture and mouthfeel. It was also whole bunch pressed, native fermented, and into a 2200L French oak cuve. The vineyards were fermented separately, with 7 months on lees until the final blend and bottling. Quite dense and compact, with ripe pear, lemon thistle, and desert sage along a gently humming palate. Very much Okanagan, and feels quite Platinum, with its fancy stelvin lux closure, and weightier bottle.Tasted: 19 June 2023Tasted by: Prices:
