Road 13 John Oliver Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is a giant cabernet sauvignon rich in blackcurrant, blackberry, and pencil/graphite notes. On the palate, the ripe fruit continues to join rich chocolate and a persistent long finish. It comes from a fine vintage and represents the best nine hand-selected barrels. The mix is 89% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot, and 3% petit verdot. At this point in its very young life, it requires grilled Porterhouse steaks, BBQ beef short ribs, or grilled Portabello mushrooms. The fruit comes from a reserve block of thick-skinned grapes in east Osoyoos. It was hand-picked at peak ripeness, sorted and fermented for 28 days to extract the perfect balance of fruit and tannin, and aged for 18 months in French and American oak. John Oliver is a story of success won by sheer grit and unshakable determination. Never shy to don his overalls to get things done, Oliver was the engineer of the Okanagan Canals, an advocate for women’s rights, and a champion of the working man.Tasted: 17 April 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
