Covert Farms Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Reserve 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis cabernet sauvignon comes off the certified organic Coyote block, planted 2007-2008, over glaciofluvial sedimentary soil, at 415-420 meters of elevation. It was hand-harvested at 1.75 tons per acre. The nose is an attractive haunting black fruit affair. It’s a wine that wants to be Napa but is uniquely BC with its red fruit profile of Lapin cherries, red licorice, and white pepper with modest but youthful tannins. The finish is medium long with dark choclate bitter notes and baking spices. A wine for grilled meats, especially lamb, or cellar for three to five years. It is one of the best I have had from Covert. The property is just south of McIntyre Bluff and is managed with biodynamic and regenerative agriculture practices.Tasted: 20 March 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
