Covert Farms Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Reserve 2012

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is a hefty wine in every way - density, title, price, bottle weight included. Planted in 2006 this cabernet sauvignon is certified organic, growing in the pristine Coyote Block of the Covert family's 650 acre estate in Oliver. Dark chocolate, dried cassis, blackberry pie and perfumed vanilla on the nose of this concentrated, plush red. The full body is full with dark chocolate covered cherries, leather, baking spices and ripe red and black cherries. Tannins are ample, ripe and chewy and the moderate acidity is enough to carry the sunbaked, sweet fruit to the tobacco leaf finish. Only 718 bottles were produced, so if you have your hands on one, pour with roast lamb and caramelized root vegetables (organic, preferably, to match).Tasted: 19 July 2015Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
