Argiano Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Suolo 2018

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalyAnother exceptional vintage, you could argue, is in the class of 2016, if just a touch less. Argiano has been tweaking its style for the last half-decade, and between Bernadino Sani and Alberto Antonini, they have put this label back in the upper echelon of Brunellos. Look for a floral rose opening with black cherry and wild strawberry laced with savoury dried herbs and leather. Surprisingly elegant with refined, dense, and sweet tannins, leaving a silky palate full of mixed red berries and a smooth chalky mineral finish. Impressive now, this vintage has the potential to age for decades, making it a must-have for collectors.Tasted: 10 March 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
