Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, Central Coast, California, United StatesA 91/9 Paso Robles red blend of cabernet sauvignon mixed with petite sirah and petit verdot has a built-in richness, extract, and plenty of sweet black fruit. The nose is a kirsch and cassis affair with a dusting of baking spices. The palate is soft and round with more sweet black fruit, licorice, mocha and low tannins. There is an audience for this style of wine that is more commercial than serious.
