Da Silva Cabernet Franc 2020
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAvila Family Vineyard in Oliver is home to this cabernet franc grown in heavier soils, lending the wine a touch of Pomerol weight. It’s fermented in open half-ton fermentors and aged in 50/50 French and American oak for 20 months. The nose is a mix of chocolate, bourbon, and red plums. Like last year, it has a pretty veneer and silky palate with plum and cherry streaked with smoke, orange rind, and clove. Just a baby and will need some time to gather itself.
