Lunessence Merlot 2020
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLet’s see, 40 percent foot trodden, post ferment, it is aged only in French oak for 14 months, and only 12 percent of the wood is new. This explains its enticing, fragrant nose with fruity, black cherry, black plum, and cedar notes. The attack is silky smooth, low in spice and high in more red fruit, with barely noticeable fine tannins. This is a merlot of interest and refinement that will age well into the end of this decade. Drink or hold, there is no rush to open this bottle, but it will not disappoint alongside a T-bone steak now.Tasted: 23 December 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $32.99 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers, restaurants |
