Lunessence Merlot 2014
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA nice improvement over last year in some ways, but this baby is warm and spicy from front to back. The wine spends six months in a mix of French, Slavonian and Hungarian oak, and six months in stainless steel. The nose shows a touch of baked red cherries with ripe blueberries and blackberries. The oak is prominent but less than 2013 which is a good thing. The attack is soft and warm with intense spicy black fruit flavours, but with enough acidity to remain balanced. Try it with grilled lamb chops for a perfect match.Tasted: 11 August 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.00 | 750ml | winery direct, private wine shops, restaurants |
