Mt. Boucherie Contessa 2018

British Columbia, CanadaContessa is a blend of winemaker Jeff Hundermark’s favourite barrels, in this case mixing 38% merlot, 32% syrah, 23% cabernet franc, 5% zinfandel, and 2% malbec aged in 20% new French, American, and Hungarian oak for 22 months. The fruit comes from three sites: Lost Horn Vineyard, Okanagan Falls; South Rock Vineyard, Golden Mile Bench; and Lazy River Vineyard, Similkameen Valley. If you enjoy big reds, this one is for you. Rich, warm, spicy, and youthful, with lashings of oak, tobacco, and blackcurrant and nowhere near ready to drink unless you order a Tomahawk at the winery restaurant The Modest Butcher Kitchen + Market.Tasted: 29 November 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
