Sonoma County, California, United StatesA cabernet is perhaps the best way to absorb some of that extra heat in a year of late-season heat strikes. This wine came from three vineyards in late September and early October to fight off the heat and keep it balanced. Aged for 19 months in 40% new and 60% neutral French Oak barrels, it opens with fragrant plummy black cherry with a dash of prune. Milk chocolate, spice, and black cherry fill in the back end along with soft sweet, savoury tannins. Consumer-friendly and ready to drink. The fruit is still ripe and bold, but it's more vivid and front and centre in the glass. This cabernet sauvignon offers opulent blackberry and black currant alongside subtle florals and balanced oak spice.
