Champagne Tarlant Brut Reserve NV

Champagne, FranceFounded in 1687, this family owned grower champagne house is now in the care of the 12th generation. This cuvée is an organically farmed 1/3 each blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay (vines 40 years old), from the chalky silica sands river slopes of the Vallée de la Marne. The base wine was native fermented in oak, where it spent 6 months on lees, no MLF. This bottle was based on the 2013 vintage, and contains 40% reserve wines. It spent 6.5 years sur lattes, and was disgorged in February 2020, with 5 g/L. Red apple, cherry dough, oatmeal is laced with a lemony brace and dosed with a heady shake of mineral salts. The extended time on lees certainly makes this a more gastronomic wine, ready to handle medium eight proteins easily. Solid value.Tasted: 14 November 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
