Phantom Creek Estates Phantom Creek Vineyard Malbec Block 8 2019

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is a fun wine because it falls on the delicate side of malbec. This is a red wine with finesse and silky textures that pulls you into the glass along with plenty of violets that complete the other half of an intense red packed full of savoury desert scrub, blueberry, chocolate, and warm earth. A dense, refined tannin structure accepts a fraction of toasted oak and vanilla, all heading for a seven to ten-year maturity mark in the bottle. The tiny, eight-acre parcel first planted by Dick Cleave in 1996 is primarily cabernet sauvignon. Since the early 2000s, the fruit from the property has been used mainly on single-vineyard bottlings, a tradition Phantom Creek is honouring today. It is a pleasure to see how this malbec has been adapted to the south Okanagan.Tasted: 28 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
