Chateau de Vaux Le Clos de Valentin Beaujolais Villages 2020

Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceChâteau de Vaux has a history to the 12th Century when the monks of Cluny planted the first vines. Yannick de Vermont is in charge today, and the family-owned, fifth-generation producer is making notable gamay from 70+ year old vines working their way to full organic certification. The nose offers intense ripe black fruit mixed with black pepper that spills onto the palate. When you think it's going to be a big wine, its silky textures balance the entire picture, revealing even more fruit and beckoning you back to each glass. It is delicious; end of the story. The eight months in concrete tanks seem like the perfect venue to deliver this wine with its granitic minerality.Tasted: 28 October 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
