Etna, Sicily, ItalyGiuseppe Tornatore's family history in Sicily dates back to the 17th century. This Carricante comes from terraced vineyards around 650m in Etna's volcanic northern slope. It spent 4-6 months in a mix of concrete and stainless prior to bottling, the understated treatment showcasing the ample salinity of sea and soils in this slender white. Marine and volcanic go hand and hand, here imbuing elderflower, meadow grass, pear skin, wild lemon, green apple with a palpable buzzy energy and brisk verve.
