Domaine de la Sarazinière Mâcon-Bussières Claude Seigneuret Vieilles Vignes 2020

Mâconnais, Burgundy, FranceCreated by Claude Seigneuret in 1926, the Domaine de la Sarazinière estate name stems from the small lieu-dit surrounding the original family home in the village of Bussières. Today it is run by a father-son team of Phillippe and Guillaume Trebignaud, with organic/biodynamic farming and low intervention winemaking. This chardonnay, named for the founder, comes from 4 parcels planted 1926-1940 on calcareous, rocky, south-facing soils. The wine is vinified and aged in French oak barrels (10% new) over 11 months. Creamy and round, with baked apple, toasted hazelnuts, light toasty spice and pear blossom across the medium-bodied palate, finishing with subtle stony spice and lemon verbena. Accessible, gentle, classic Mâcon.Tasted: 04 September 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
