Blue Grouse Quill Pinot Noirtext

Blue Grouse Quill Pinot Noir 2020

British Columbia, CanadaAs in previous years, the Quill Pinot Noir is split between Vancouver Island and Okanagan fruit. This year the mix includes 34% from the Okanagan, and the remainder from the island (including 12% gamay for the first time). Each lot was left on skins for 4 days and native fermented separately. After pressing, the wine was moved into French oak barrels for MLF, followed by 1 year in French and American oak. Soft and plush in the mouth, with crushed plum, cherry jam, and a healthy shake of brown spices. Tannins are equally soft, hugging this medium bodied red to the briefer finish. The wine is already tasting a bit tired, so best to crack now with a slight chill and a mushroom pasta dish.Tasted: 05 September 2022Tasted by: Prices:
