Quails' Gate Chenin Blanc 2021

West Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaChenin Blanc has been growing at Quails’ Gate Estate for more than 20 years, and they remain one of the few producing the variety today. The QG styling is dry and floral with a bright lemony floral nose with quite an aromatic lift, no doubt from a bump of 7 percent viognier. The chenin is cold settled and fermented in 90% stainless steel and 10% neutral French oak, while the Viognier grapes were barrel fermented in neutral French oak. On the palate, lemon and guava meet a peachy/pear finish. There is plenty of Okanagan acidity to keep it tight and food friendly. I have enjoyed this with freshly shucked oysters and steamed mussels, but it would be equally at home with a buttery halibut dish.Tasted: 13 April 2022Tasted by: Prices:
