Moon Curser Roussanne Marsanne 2021
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA classic Rhône blend from about as far from the Rhône as it gets. Moon Curser has reintroduced this blend with a fresher demeanour in the last two years, and this 82/18 mix of roussanne/marsanne sourced from the home vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench is another winner. It is whole cluster pressed and co-fermented in mostly stainless steel with a small amount that spends four months in oak with regular lees stirring before resting. Surprisingly elegant, it has a texture that suggests otherwise, but the acidity and the electricity of the roussanne take the lead for the moment. You can expect the marsanne to eventually kick in, adding some honey and marzipan notes down the road.
