Lakeside Cellars Cabernet Franc 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDesert Valley Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench is home to this franc. It was planted in 2011, and successive years of high quality fruit have allowed it to play as a single vineyard wine for Lakeside Cellars. Post fermentation, it spends 24 months in neutral French and American oak. The nose is an earthy, savoury bell pepper affair with a pleasant vanilla underside. On the palate, it is somewhat rustic, led by high acid and spicy black fruit dosed in dried desert sagebrush. The tannins are soft, but this needs a big piece of rare protein to settle in or more time in the bottle. It's just a little sharp at this point. Try this with beef tacos or a grilled steak.Tasted: 08 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
