Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPersian carpet-magenta coloured with a pretty nose of cassis, dark plum and violet candies. The pencil lead and dried herbs of classic varietal cabernet franc are nicely displayed in this Golden Mile wine. Sweet, ripe, dark fruit flavours with are heavily coated with mocha oak notes and uplifted by fresh Okanagan acidity; two years in oak barrels shows on the highly toasted, savoury finish. Solid effort that showcases well-ripened fruit, balanced by the savouryness that one hopes for in cabernet franc.Tasted: 31 October 2019Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Desert Valley Vineyard on the Golden Mile Bench, and young vines (2011), this was fermented in French and American oak for 24 months. The youthful fruit is overwhelmed by such lavish treatments, leaving this full bodied wine redolent with toasted cedar, light smoke, some roasted cherry and plum, and lingering spice. Tannins are smoothed and easy, but the wine lacks vibrance and energy. Tame back the oak, and let this lovely fruit shine.Tasted: 03 December 2019Tasted by: Prices:
