Culmina Family Estate Hypothesis 2017
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHypothesis has never been a shrinking violet, and 2017 continues the tradition. It is less ripe than in 2016, showing drier black fruit with more licorice and savoury notes mixed with tobacco, resin, and black pepper. It leads with 43 percent cabernet sauvignon, 21 merlot, 20 cabernet franc, ten malbec and six petit verdot, all taken from Arise and Stan’s Bench. It spends 16 months in 31% new French oak plus one year old and neutral oak. It has always required time in the bottle, and five to seven years seems like a good plan for this vintage. Hopefully, the fruit makes it.Tasted: 23 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $50.00 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers |
