Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPoplar Grove's Rosé is a dependable go-to, and the 2021 vintage is no different. It shows a combination of juicy red fruits, with a mix of cherry, strawberry, and candied watermelon, alongside a dusting of spices, leading to a balanced, approachable palate that's dry and laden with fruit. There's some astringency to the finish, and this will show at its best at the patio table paired with summer salads topped with grilled chicken or salmon.Tasted: 11 July 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPoplar Grove is making two rosés this season: the regular label, and a new low alcohol version they call Rosé Nouveau. The standard 2021 is a juicy kitchen sink mix of malbec, merlot, cabernet franc, pinot noir, syrah, and cabernet sauvignon. The colour is a tea rose pink, and the style is fresh and dry. It is awash in juicy fruit with strawberries, raspberries, and slightly bitter nectarine. I love the complexity here that leaves it open to many food possibilities.Tasted: 06 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon in this blend were fermented separately, with four hours skin time before a cool ferment in stainless, leaving it with 1 g/L RS. Pouring a shining mid-pink hue, this slick, juicy pink is filled with watermelon, cherry gummies, candy apple, and soft spice, with the bump of sugar feeling more pronounced on the finish. Crack now with a chill and enjoy on a sunny patio.Tasted: 02 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
