Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2021 Riesling comes off 21B clones at Garagan Vineyard. It was handpicked on September 30 at full ripeness. It is all whole bunch pressed and fermented in stainless steel before being halted with a bump of residual sugar. Post ferment, it was aged on its lees for six months in a combination of neutral French puncheons (36%) and stainless steel tanks (64%). The style is open, floral, juicy, and fun. The residual sugar lets it pop in your mouth and makes me think of spicy bites to allow it to shine. Fun, fun, fun, and nothing more. Stock up all summer.Tasted: 04 May 2022Tasted by: Prices:
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Naramata's Garagan Vineyard, and 18 year old clone 21B vines, this was whole bunch pressed and fermented cool in stainless, stopped after 3 weeks to hold the RS around 15 g/L. It then aged on lees for 6 months in stainless and neutral French puncheons prior to blending and bottling. Very fragrant, with lush florals, peach blossoms, white peach, apricot filling a creamy, plump palate. The RS gives an easy friendliness to this, countered by some lime sherbet that rings on the brief finish. Enjoy this off-dry white on the patio this summer.Tasted: 06 June 2022Tasted by: Prices:
