Haywire The Bub 2018
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTasted again, near 3 years along, and The Bub 2018 is holding its own. The 2018 blends 64% chardonnay and 36% pinot noir from then estate vineyards in Summerland and Oliver. The first ferment was native in concrete, before heading to bottle for secondary ferment and 30 months' rest on lees prior to disgorge with 0 dosage. The re-release showcases the refreshed colourful Haywire labels, and is now sealed with a Diam cork (vs the crown cap of past). The ultra crisp, crunchy fruit has given way some, showing the magic Maillard reaction's bread dough, caramel-kissed apple seasoning the lemony, orchard fruit palate.
