Pentâge Winery Roussanne Marsanne 2016

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPentâge is a rarity in BC / Canadian wine, as they hold their wines back, aging them prior to release. Case in point is this current release 2016 Rhone white blend, a mix of 70% roussanne, and 30% marsanne off their Skaha Bench site. It started ferment and stainless before half was transferred to 2nd and 3rd fill French barrique and puncheon. The wooded portion underwent MLF, while both had regular bátonnage prior to the final blend. Creamy and ripe, with the toasted wood colouring the ripe pear, fragrant white peach, acacia, key lime on a rich, full palate. Even at this aged state the wood is at the fore. Best tried with equally rich creamy dishes.Tasted: 29 April 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
