Langhe, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyBarivel is another fine effort from Galarin and a personal Piemonte favourite. In south Piemonte, the arneis grape is grown artisanally at Guarene on the calcareous and sandy soils of the Roero area. It's a high-density planting at 250 metres above sea level. The attack is fresh with lifted floral citrus and musk melon with underlying lees and a shaved almond bent. Dry and elegant, this is a terrific seafood wine or the perfect appetizer white before a rich meal.
