Weingut Heinrich Graue Freiheit 2019

Weinland Österreich, AustriaFreyheit means freedom, and signifies Heinrich's natural range of wines. This is a blend of Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), and Chardonnay, from the schist, quartz, and limestone slopes of Neusiedler See (Lake Neusiedl) and the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains). This striking wine was bottled in a clay vessel, and farmed organically and biodynamically. After a native ferment and two weeks on skins, this matured for 17 months in amphorae and in older wood on full lees, until it was bottled unfiltered and without sulphur. This pours a hazy peach hue, and streams tight apricot, lime pith, bitter orange, bergamot on a skinny, super salty palate. Quite knit, there is nothing out of place here. A very adventuresome and authentic naturalist wine.Tasted: 08 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
