Volcanic Hills Reserve Chardonnay 2017

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA skinnier version of the 2016, but strangely it shows advanced maturity. More oxidative, but as mentioned, with a skinnier attack, more citrus, and less butter, with ripe pineapple and vanilla in the finish. Again, this is fully mature and ready to drink but is just too old-fashioned for me. It is all barrel-fermented in new French oak. I suggest a less-is-more attack and let the fruit sing.Tasted: 14 March 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
