Villa Maria Taylor's Pass Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Awatere Valley, Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandTaylor's Pass Vineyard sits on the gravelled silts of the northern bank of the Awatere River, and this sauvignon blanc is from vines 12-17 years. It was fermented in steel, where it remained on lees to build complexity. Tight gooseberry, white asparagus, crunchy papaya, lime pith, and tangerine run a sleek palate, with herbal white grapefruit lingering on the stony finish. Well knit and complete, this sums up the spectacular wind-swept Awatere Valley well.Tasted: 14 March 2022Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
